CMU Women Prepare for No. 25 Michigan

MOUNT PLEASANT – The season for the Central Michigan women’s basketball team begins on Wednesday as the Chippewas travel to No. 25 Michigan.

The last time these two met was back in 2006, where the Wolverines won 52-47.

Coach Heather Oesterle believes they’re ready to take on the challenge and use it to get ready for conference play.

“We know we’re in for a tough test going down there trying to knock off a top 25 team but we’re prepared and we’ve been preparing for weeks,” said Oesterle. “You know we schedule teams in the preseason to help get us ready for conference play because the goals don’t change this year and we’re going for five in a row conference championships, and Michigan is going to help us get ready they’re huge, playing against a bigger team.”

CMU is coming off a 23-7 campaign that saw the Chippewas win a Mid-American Conference regular season championship and a MAC West Division title.

That game tips off at 12:30 pm at the Crisler Center.
