Marshall Meeder connected on the game-winning 22-yard field goal with 9:05 remaining in regulation.

Daniel Richardson was 23-of-41 for 243 yards and a score in his debut under center for the Chippewas.

With the game tied at 7-7 late in the first quarter, Kalil Pimpleton put CMU ahead on a 50-yard touchdown reception from Richardson as the Chippewas took a 14-7 lead.

Following a lengthy delay late in the second quarter because of an issue with the stadium lights, Ohio went ahead for only time Wednesday on a 93-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by De’Montre Tuggle to open the third quarter.

Lewis would respond for CMU on the ensuing drive with an 8-yard scamper to tie the game at 27-27 with 10:36 left in the third quarter.
