CMU Rolls Big in Win Over St. Francis

MT. PLEASANT – Meikkel Murray tallied a game-high 15 points and eight rebounds as the Central Michigan men’s basketball team cruised to a 91-39 win over St. Francis (Ill.) at McGuirk Arena on Monday.

The Chippewas (3-3) held a 38-25 lead at the half.

Caleb Huffman and Ralph Bissainthe joined Murray in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

CMU shot 52.2% (36-of-69) from the field and held a 51-42 rebounding edge.

The Chippewas forced 24 turnovers and turned those turnovers into 30 points.

Carter Fayhee led the NAIA Fighting Saints with seven points and three rebounds.

Monday’s game counted as an exhibition for St. Francis.

CMU now turns its attention its Mid-American Conference opener at rival Western Michigan on Friday.

Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
