Petoskey’s Huffman Takes Basketball Camps Virtual
PETOSKEY – Ever since the pandemic began back in the spring, one Petoskey alum dedicated his time to teaching kids of any age group and skill level the fundamentals of basketball.
He had to get creative since he couldn’t do it in person, so he used Zoom.
Petoskey basketball legend Trevor Huffman is no stranger to the sport of basketball. After becoming the all-time leading scorer at Kent State and a lengthy professional career in Europe, he wanted to share his 20 years of basketball wisdom.
His Huffman Basketball camps have been around since he was in college, but this year he had to make some changes to help aspiring basketball starts achieve their goals.
“It’s been great to just say why don’t I do something with kids were I come to them through Zoom and let me teach them the game and let me educate them on setting goals,” said Huffman. “I think it’s almost like we are a team now. I’ve had these kids since May and it’s just amazing to see one the improvement in their games, but also just see them open up and talk about basketball, talk about life.”
“And, I think that’s been real beneficial not only for me to connect with them but for them to connect with each other,” added Huffman.
He brings in kids to his virtual workouts from all over the country.
