Sacred Heart, Morey FlexTech Partnering for Co-op Soccer Program

MT. PLEASANT – Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart has long fielded successful girls athletic programs, and now it’s adding another sport.

Sacred Heart is partnering with Morey FlexTech High School in Shepherd to form a co-op girls soccer team.

Sacred Heart has spent the last three years working to create a new opportunity for students.

The school believes the addition of girls soccer will help with enrollment, as adding another spring sport was popular among female athletes.

“There was enough interest between both schools to pursue it so this fall we filed our cooperative agreement with the MHSAA, they approved it so now we’re moving onto to exploring the other things that go along with that getting coaches, uniforms, equipment, a schedule,” Sacred Heart athletic director Dan Haggart said. “We’re excited about it there’s a lot of buzz about it like I said it’s been a long time coming and we’re really looking forward to it”

The 2021 season will be contested with a JV schedule, with a full varsity slate scheduled for 2022.
