SAULT STE. MARIE – Sault Ste. Marie senior Conner Habusta signed his National Letter of Intent with Gannon (Penn.) University and its swimming and diving program Wednesday evening.

Habusta has won numerous awards during his time as diver with the Blue Devils and was part of the 2020 MHSAA Upper Peninsula 200 medley relay championship-winning team.

Despite all of Habusta’s success in the pool, he says he never really expected to receive a collegiate opportunity.

“When I first started I didn’t think I would ever get to this point, but now that I am, it’s pretty exciting,” Habusta said. “It’s very exciting to see what I can accomplish.”

Habusta will be studying criminal justice with the plan of becoming a police officer or a border patrol officer.
