Staffords Surprise Marion Family Following Loss of Father to COVID-19

MARION — Last month, the community of Marion rallied around Chad Wilson and his son, Ethan, as they battled COVID-19. Ethan beat the virus and returned home to his family. But Chad, the Marion peewee football coach, passed way from complications with the coronavirus.

On Monday, the family received surprise zoom call from Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly. The family had been chosen by the Stafford’s for their annual Christmas gift. The gift included a check, multiple signed jerseys and an invite to a Lions game next season in which the family will be on the sidelines.
