Cadillac Punches Ticket to First Ever State Final Appearance

EDWARDSBURG – Cadillac made the trip down to Edwardsburg on Saturday to take on the Eddies in the Division 4 semifinal.

At halftime, the Vikings trailed 14-12.

They came back in the second half to win it 28-26.

The win taking them to Ford Field on Friday to make their first state final appearance in program history.

The team was welcomed home by a police and fire escort and fans lining the streets. They came back to Veterans Memorial Stadium.

“It brings tears to your eyes seeing the support from the community and hearing our guys in the back with what it meant to them,” said head coach Cody Mallory. “You drive the streets of Cadillac all the time but to have people parked there and waving and honking and really celebrating the success of our young guys, there’s nothing like it.”

They will take on Detroit Country Day at 7:30 pm.
