Lions Hire Holmes as Next General Manager

The Detroit Lions announced on Thursday that they have hired Brad Holmes to be the team’s next General Manager and Executive Vice President. He takes over for Bob Quinn, who was relieved of his duties during this past season.

Holmes spent 18 seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, and in 2013, he became the Director of College Scouting. He has been in that position for the past eight seasons.

“On behalf of the entire Lions organization, I am thrilled to welcome Brad Holmes to Detroit,” Lions Principal Owner and Chairman Sheila Ford Hamp said in their announcement of the hire. “Several weeks ago when we embarked on this process, it was critical that we find the right person to fit our vision for this team. It was evident early on that Brad is a proven leader who is ready for this opportunity. We are thrilled to introduce him to our fans as a member of our football family.”

The Lions are still searching for their next head coach to take over for Matt Patricia. Detroit went 5-11 this past season, and they own the seventh pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
