LSSU Men Drop Season Opener to Wayne State

SAULT STE. MARIE – Nigel Colvin scored a game-high 24 points off the bench in Lake Superior State’s 87-76 loss to Wayne State Friday afternoon in the season opener for both teams.

The Lakers trailed 38-27 at the half as LSSU was outrebounded 48-34 on Friday.

Kemon Bassett and David Wren joined Colvin in double figures with 20 and 12 points apiece.

Darian Owens-White paced the Warriors with 23 points and six rebounds.

The two teams are back in action Saturday. Tipoff from the James Norris Center is set for 1 p.m.
