MHSAA Responds to Emergency Order, Update on Spectators and Winter Contact Sports
Following Friday’s announcements by the MDHHS on the topics of spectators and Winter contact sports, the MHSAA released their response on the emergency order update.
The MDHHS announced that sports arenas with capacities of at least 10,000 spectators may allow up to 500 to attend events. This comes right before the start of today and Saturday’s 11-player football finals at Ford Field in Detroit.
However, no additional tickets will be sold for the games state title games this weekend.
For winter contact sports, including girls and boys basketball, competitive cheer, ice hockey and wrestling, they will remain non-contact through Feb. 21. The previous order would have allowed those sports to resume on Feb. 1.
