Suttons Bay Falls to Lenawee Christian in 8-Player D1 Finals

BRIGHTON – It was the second year in a row that the Norsemen of Suttons Bay made it all the way to the state championship game.

In the 2019 season, they fell to Colon in the title matchup.

On Saturday, they played Adrian Lenawee Christian at the Brighton Legacy Center Sports Complex.

This matchup was a battle of the undefeateds, with both teams boasting unblemished records.

At halftime, the Cougars got out to a 33-0 lead.

Suttons Bay fell to Lenawee Christian 47-0.

“Of course this is a very tough loss, we don’t wanna go out this way,” said head coach Garrick Opie. “But, the special season that it’s been, it’s a privilege to be here. So, we’re going to take that with us and be extremely happy about it. We have phenomenal young men. Winning is great, but if they can leave with positive memories about football and life and learn great things from football, then I’m a happy man.

They end their season with a record of 10-1.
