Lake Superior State Tops Ferris State in GLIAC Play
SAULT STE. MARIE — Ferris State put together a late comeback after trailing by 14 with 5:36 left in the second half, but they came up short, losing to Lake Superior State on Tuesday, 84-82.
Malek Adams led the Lakers with 23 points, which included a free throw with 11 seconds left to make it a 3-point game.
The Bulldogs went to Walt Kelser down the stretch, who made some key free throws to bring them within two with 47 seconds left. But Glen Lake alum Xander Okerlund hit a huge jump shot with 31 seconds left to put LSSU up by four.
Kelser finished with 15 points, while Ben Davidson led the Bulldogs with 24 points. Okerlund finished with 13 points for the Lakers.
Lake Superior State hosts Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday at 3 p.m. Ferris State will host Purdue Northwest on Friday at 4 p.m.
