LSSU Men Fall at Home to Davenport

SAULT STE. MARIE – Davenport erased an eight-point halftime deficit en route to a 77-75 win over Lake Superior State in GLIAC action at Bud Cooper Gym Friday afternoon.

The Lakers (4-6) held a 42-34 lead at the half as they dropped their second straight game.

Chris Collins led the Panthers (3-7) with a game-high 27 points and six assists in the win.

David paced LSSU with 21 points and eight rebounds while Kemon Bassett notched a double-double with 20 points and 10 boards.

Brandon Allen scored 11 points in 13 minutes off the bench for the Lakers.

LSSU outshot Davenport 42.9% to 38.8% from the field but was just 65.6% (21-of-32) from the charity stripe.

The two teams meet again at 1 p.m. Saturday.
