T.C. Central Duo Sign With Saginaw Valley State Football

TRAVERSE CITY — Austin Bills and Tylor McCoon have been football teammates since the fifth grade, and that will not stop now that they are both headed to Saginaw Valley State to play football next fall. The two signed their letters of intent on Wednesday to make it official.

“It’s pretty exciting you get to start out with someone that I’ve always been with, but it just ensures that, say if I get lost or something, we can always just help each other out since we’re both starting their together,” Bill said.

The two players helped Traverse City Central win a regional title this past season, advancing to their first state semifinal since 1988. They hope to carry that success down to Saginaw Valley State and help the program.

“We’ve been through a lot together. It’s amazing,” McCoon said. “Just the whole atmosphere, just being around new players, new teammates, new coaches, it’s just gonna be a lot of change, which I hope I’m ready for it.”

SVSU lists Bills as a running back commit, while McCoon is listed as a tight end.
