Traverse City St. Francis Ready to Start Basketball Season
TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City St. Francis boys basketball team looks to keep up its strong success on the court, which has led them to four straight conference titles. The Gladiators are now ready to begin their season.
“It feels great to have an opportunity to play again because we haven’t played in over a year, less than a year, so I’m thankful for that,” sophomore Wyatt Nausadis said. “And I’m thankful that we get to be together as a team get another chance. Hopefully we can win a district title.”
Last season, the Gladiators didn’t get a chance to play in the district final against Glen Lake because of COVID-19 ending the postseason early. This season’s group of players are looking to get back to that spot in the postseason.
“This is a good group of guys that all have a good focus on what we need to get done, so we’re all just gonna come here get in good work and get after this year,” senior Casey Donahue said.
“Our goals don’t change, doesn’t matter the kids we have here, we expect to compete and win the conference and make a run in March,” TCSF head coach Sean Finnegan said.
The Gladiators will start their season on Wednesday against Boyne City at home.
