Big Rapids Cruises Past Chippewa Hills for 7th Straight Win

BIG RAPIDS – Big Rapids recorded its seventh straight win via a 58-19 victory over Chippewa Hills on Friday.

Prior to Friday’s game, longtime Big Rapids coach Kent Ingles was honored for reaching 600 career wins earlier this season.

“There’s so many valuable lessons, even when you lose,” Ingles said. “The concept of losing gracefully. The concept of being a team player, of fitting your role that you’re put into. We haven’t always been blessed with greatest amount of talent, but I’ve been blessed with some really great kids. I wouldn’t be doing it at this age if it still wasn’t fun. I hope I can still communicate with the kids. I feel very lucky and blessed.”

Big Rapids (11-1, 8-1) hosts Newaygo on Monday while Chippewa Hills (2-9, 2-8) welcomes in Beal City.
