Gladwin’s Leddy Wins Girls Wrestling State Title

HIGHLAND — Gladwin’s Lena Leddy trailed by 7-3 in the second period when she picked up a big pin to secure the state title over Gabriella Allen on Sunday in the girls wrestling state finals.

Allen held a 4-1 lead over Leddy after the first period and kept building on that lead in the second period, but with 19 seconds left in the second, Leddy was able to secure the victory.

This marked the third year that the Michigan Wrestling Association held the girls wrestling state finals.
