Lake Superior State Edges Ferris State In Regular Season Finale

SAULT STE. MARIE – The Lake Superior State and Ferris State hockey teams met for the final game of the regular season on Saturday afternoon.

The last time the two teams met, the Lakers came up with the 4-2 victory.

The Lakers were victorious again, 2-1, over the Bulldogs.

Pete Veillette and William Riedell scored the two goals for the Lakers, and Antonio Venuto was the lone scorer for Ferris State.

The win secures LSSU the second seed in the WCHA standings, their highest finish since the 1995-96 season.

The Lakers will host a best-of-three for the first round of the WCHA playoffs next weekend, and the Bulldogs take on Minnesota State for their first round game.
