Veterans COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics

With COVID-19 vaccinations in full swing across the nation, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is making a massive push to make sure anyone who has served our country gets theirs.

The VA has been doing various things trying to get veterans in for their shots, like mass mailings, personal phone calls and updating social media.  They say they have made it really easy.

All a veteran has to do is contact their primary care team about getting them scheduled or get information on where they’re holding a remote clinics in places like Traverse City, Cadillac, Gaylord or Alpena.

Tom Zwingman, with the VA’s Veterans Benefits Administration, says they also want to make sure veterans have all information they need about the vaccines, “Prior to getting that vaccination, they’re going to have the opportunity to sit with that vaccinator and go over some questions that he or she may have, get everything addressed prior to actually receiving the vaccination.”

In addition to veterans themselves, the VA is also offering vaccinations for spouses and caregivers.
