Raven Returns to Lead Morley Stanwood Girls Basketball Program

MORLEY – Longtime Morley Stanwood basketball coach Bob Raven is returning to the girls basketball sidelines after leading the boys program for the last five years.

Raven previously coached the girls program for 23 seasons, leading the Mohawks to 387 wins and the 2012 Class C state championship.

He replaces Rob Brauher who stepped down following this season.

“The opportunity came up, I thought long and hard about it and decided I think that’s probably the way I want to go out as coach of the girls,” Raven said. “It was a tough decision. I’ve been with the boys the last five years, seven total. Boy, if they would let me do both I would, and I really like coaching basketball. I’m going to miss coaching the boys for sure, but I’m excited to meet with the girls here this spring and plan our summer out and get going.”

The Mohawks went 10-6 during their 2021 campaign and lost to eventual Division 3 state runner-up in a district final.
