Rudyard’s Historic Runs Ends in Division 4 State Semifinals

GRAND RAPIDS – Brady Titus scored a game-high 28 points in Wyoming Tri-unity Christian’s 61-43 win over Rudyard in a Division 4 state semifinal Thursday at Van Andel Arena.

Making its first semifinal appearance since 1963, Rudyard trailed 20-11 after an opening quarter and 36-19 at the half.

EJ Suggitt paced the Bulldogs with 19 points, two rebounds and two assists while Tate Besteman joined Suggitt in double figures with 13 points and nine boards.

Austin Treece tallied 11 points and eight rebounds for Tri-unity which held a 37-27 edge in rebounding and shot 44.6% (25-for-56) from the field.

With the loss, Rudyard wraps up its historic campaign at 18-3.

Tri-unity (14-2) will take on Detroit Douglass (16-5) in the state championship game at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Breslin Center in East Lansing. Douglass handed Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart a 60-41 loss in Thursday’s second semifinal.
