Elk Rapids’ Ball Taking Talents to Trine
ELK RAPIDS – After a record-breaking senior season, Elk Rapids’ Preston Ball made his decision on where to continue his basketball career.
The second-highest scorer in Elks’ history signed his letter of intent with Trine University on Friday.
He said he chose Trine because of the coaches and the overall environment of the program and the school.
“Coaches are great, they have a great basketball culture there,” said Ball. “That was really a big factor in where I wanted to go. They have a great program there, so just very excited to get to work and get to play.”
Ball scored 1,256 points in his career at Elk Rapids, which surpassed both his dad and his uncle on the all-time scoring list.
He helped lead the Elks to a 14-4 season this year. He also contributed to the soccer team, who finished 19-3-4 and won a district and regional championship in 2020.
