Traverse City St. Francis Sweeps Elk Rapids in Softball

TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City St. Francis softball team continued its strong play with a pair of wins, 14-3 and 5-4, over Elk Rapids on Monday.

The Elks took a 2-1 lead with a home run by Reagan Merchant in the first game, but St. Francis responded with seven runs in the bottom of the third and then six more runs the rest of the game.

Elk Rapids attempted a comeback in the second game, scoring three runs in the top of the sixth to pull within one, but the Elks were unable to score the game-tying run.

Camryn Craig had a big day for the Gladiators, hitting a home run and a double in the first game. She also drove in four runs and struck out six batters in the circle.
