Boyne City Makes Return Trip to State Semifinals
BOYNE CITY — The Boyne City girls soccer team will make its second straight appearance in the state semifinals, and for the Ramblers to make their first state finals appearance, they’ll have to get by a state power in Hudsonville Unity Christian.
The Crusaders have won 10 state titles in girls soccer and they have not lost a game yet this season.
“Going in, we are definitely expecting it to be a rough, tough game but we’re going to bring all our energy and we’re going to prepare for it,” Boyne City senior Jordan Noble said.
The Ramblers have just one loss to Elk Rapids at the beginning of the year, but since then, they have dominated opponents and have 18 of their 20 wins have come by a shutout. They have the confidence to go up against a strong program like Hudsonville Unity Christian.
All the four teams that are left over are going to be solid teams,” Boyne City head coach Ed Fantozzi said. “So it’s going to be a game that we have to bring our A-game. Can we play with them? Absolutely. There’s no doubt in my mind we can play with them.”
The game will start at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Cedar Springs High School.
