Cadillac Ends Historic Postseason Run in Regional Final

CEDAR SPRINGS — Cadillac and Spring Lake went scoreless into overtime when the Lakers scored the lone goal in the first 10 minutes to win the regional title on Thursday in Div. 2 girls soccer.

Zoe Komar found the back of the net for Spring Lake, scoring the lone goal of the game after a great performance by Cadillac goalie Molly Anderson.

The loss ends the Vikings’ run in their first regional final in program history.

“We deserved to be here. We have good soccer players. We have a good soccer program,” Cadillac head coach Joy Weitzel said. “Obviously, we wanted to keep going today. Didn’t quite make it, but I mean I think we’ll be here next year. These girls, they work hard and I love them. I don’t know what else to say.”

Cadillac finishes the season with a 15-5-4 record.
