Central Michigan Baseball Earns 10 Conference Accolades

MT. PLEASANT — Central Michigan baseball won the Mid-American Conference for a second straight season, and the team took home multiple conference accolades.

Head coach Jordan Bischel received the Coach of the Year for the second straight season after leading the team to another 40-win season. Andrew Taylor received the Freshman Pitcher of the Year along with the Pitcher of the Year award.

CMU had three players receive First Team All-MAC honors, with second baseman Mario Camilletti, who will be on the Pit Spitters once again this season, outfielder Zach Gilles and pitcher Andrew Taylor.

The accolades continued to roll in on the Second Team All-MAC team, with pitchers Jordan Patty and Grant Frazer making the list.

Gilles and Beal City alum Chase Rollin rounded out the conference honors for the Chippewas by receiving a spot on the All-Defensive team.

CMU will start the NCAA Tournament on Friday with a matchup against Notre Dame at 1 p.m. ET in South Bend.
