Chargers Sign T.C. St. Francis Alum Seybert

TRAVERSE CITY — The Los Angeles Chargers announced on Friday that they signed Traverse City St. Francis alum and former Michigan State tight end Matt Seybert.

Seybert originally signed with Buffalo after high school, but transferred to Michigan State. He made 11 starts as a senior and had 26 catches for 284 yards and three touchdowns for the Spartans in 2019.

He prepared for the 2020 NFL Draft, but during that time, his pro day at Michigan State got canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After not hearing his name called in the draft, he joined The Spring League, hoping to catch the eyes of NFL scouts. And a less than a year later, Seybert will get that opportunity with the Chargers.
