EAST LANSING — The Rudyard softball team’s historic season comes to an end in the program’s first evert state finals, with a 14-1 loss to Unionville-Sebewaing in Div. 4 on Saturday.
The Bulldogs came up short in the state quarterfinals in 2018 and 2019 and finally moved on to their first state semifinals this year.
Following their impressive comeback win on a walk-off homerun in extra innings in the semifinal, the UP team ends its season in the state championship.
Rudyard finishes its season with a record of 28-6.
