Sim Builds 3-Stroke Lead at Michigan Women’s Open

THOMPSONVILLE — Kelly Sim took control of first place at 10-under after the second round of the Michigan Women’s Open on Tuesday at Crystal Mountain Resort.

Sim, a Northwestern golfer, recorded a 66 in her second round, with five birdies on the front nine. She entered the round tied with Tristyn Nowlin for first. After recording a 69, Nowlin is currently tied for second at 7-under with Ashley Lau of Ann Arbor.

Caledonia’s Sarah White had a solid second round with a 68 to improve her score to 6-under, and she sits alone in fourth place. Traverse City’s Anika Dy also had a 68 in second round, moving into a tie for fifth place at 4-under with Annabelle Pancake.

The final round is Wednesday at Crystal Mountain. The leaders will tee off at 9:50 a.m. All tee times can be found on the .
