Traverse City’s Anika Dy Tied Atop Michigan Women’s Amateur Championship

SAGINAW — Traverse City’s Anika Dy is tied with Ariel Chang at the top of the 105th Michigan Women’s Amateur being held at Saginaw Country Club this week. Both golfers sit at one-under after the first round of stroke play.

Dy played an even front nine, and then birdied four of nine on the back. She also had three bogeys. Her sister, Anci, is currently tied for 17th place at six-over.

Stroke play lasts 36 holes and will determine the low 32 players for match play. The final round of stroke play will be Tuesday. Match play starts on Wednesday with the Round of 32. On Thursday, the Round of 16 and Round of 8 will occur with 36 holes total. The tournament will wrap up on Friday with the semifinal and final matches for another 36 holes.
