Boyne City’s Herrick to Continue Soccer Career at Finlandia

BOYNE CITY — Boyne City soccer player Ally Herrick will take her talents to the U.P. this fall to play for Finlandia University.

Herrick helped lead the Ramblers to their first ever state championship appearance and scored the winning goal in their regional finals win over Big Rapids.

She was named Second Team All-State this past season and was instrumental in Boyne’s 19 shutouts and overall record of 21-2-2.

Herrick said the 2021 season was special and it helped her realize she wanted to keep playing at the next level.

“I always thought that I could try to push myself to play in college, but definitely this year is what really pushed me over the edge. Just realizing that it would be my last year in high school and just wanting to play again,” said Herrick.

Herrick joins a Finlandia women’s team that made a trip to the ACAA Championship in 2019.

After their 2020 season was cancelled, the Lions open their 2021 season against Northland on Sept. 1.
