Central Michigan Football Talks About Upcoming Season at MAC Media Day
DETROIT — Football players and coaches from around the Mid-American Conference came together at Ford Field in Detroit for Media Day on Tuesday.
Central Michigan defensive end Troy Hairston and wide receiver Kalil Pimpleton joined head coach Jim McElwain to represent the Chippewas and talk about the upcoming season.
CMU went 3-3 in the conference-only season in 2020, a disappointing finish after they won the MAC West the season before.
As a result, Central was picked to finish fourth in the MAC West in the conference media poll. But, the Chippewas say they are putting last season behind them and looking forward to success in 2021.
“We’re not worried about what happened yesterday,” said Pimpleton. “We’re going to take the film that we got yesterday but we’re going to learn from it right now. We’re not worried about tomorrow because it ain’t came yet. We’re going to worry about right now. So that’s exactly where I get that mindset from, it comes from Coach Mac man that’s something that he harps on is being present in the now.”
CMU opens the season against Missouri on Sept. 4.
