Central Michigan’s Pimpleton Named to Paul Hornung Award Watch List
MT. PLEASANT — Central Michigan’s Kalil Pimpleton has been named to the Paul Hornung Award Watch List, becoming the latest Chippewa to make a pre-season watchlist this year.
Pimpleton, a junior from Muskegon, recorded 26 catches for 277 yards and rushed 16 times for 134 yards during the 2020 season.
He scored six total touchdowns on the season and returned eight punts and two kickoffs and averaged 82 yards per game in all-purpose yards.
The award goes to the most versatile player in college football.
Pimpleton was named second team All-MAC as a wide receiver in 2020 after earning first-team honors at both wide receiver and punt returner in 2019.
He was also named to the 2021 Athlon Sports All-Mid-American Conference Preseason Team and the 2021 Phil Steele All-Mid-American Conference Preseason football teams as both receiver and returner.
