Leland’s Mia Osorio to Play Volleyball at Alma

LELAND — Leland’s Mia Osorio will continue her volleyball career at Alma this fall after she signed with the Scots in November.

As a three-year varsity starting libero, Osorio helped lead the Comets to back-to-back runner-up finishes in the 2018 and 2019 Div. 4 state championships.

She also received numerous All-State, All-Region and All-Conference honors.

“I was kind of sold on Alma when I first saw them. I really liked how their community and everything is kind of like Leland and they were really welcoming and everyone was super nice, so I really liked that it was the same as where I grew up,” said Osorio. “I’m looking forward to the competition and just like learning more about volleyball because I know there is so much more I have to learn. But I’m excited for more competition and more intensity because it’s just so much fun to play.”

Osorio will join the Alma volleyball team for their first official practice of the season on Aug. 21.
