Pit Spitters Lose to Growlers at Home

TRAVERSE CITY — The Pit Spitters’ bats struggled on Thursday, only recording four hits and one run in their 2-1 loss to the Growlers at home.

Kalamazoo got the scoring started in the fifth inning on an RBI triple by Luke Storm. Damon Lux followed that up with a base hit to center field to score Storm, making it 2-0.

T.C. didn’t get on the scoreboard until the seventh inning when Christian Faust singled to center field, scoring Chris Monroe.

Jacob Marcus had a solid day on the mound for the Pit Spitters, pitching five innings and allowing just two runs while striking out six.

Traverse City will be at home again on Friday, hosting Kenosha at 7:05 p.m.
