Reed City Hires Hansen as Athletic Director

REED CITY — Reed City High School named Ryan Hansen its new director of athletics last week.

Hansen moved to Reed City when he was three-years-old, graduated from the high school and then attended Central Michigan University.

Following his graduation in 2000, Hansen returned to Reed City where he has been a math teacher and coach the last 21 years. He served as a freshman and JV coach for the boys football, basketball and baseball teams.

Hansen’s most recent role was as a varsity football and baseball assistant coach. He said he is grateful to continue working within the Reed City community.

“I came here when I was three and went to school here. Went off to college for a couple years but then came right back and I knew that this was the community that I wanted to start a family in and stay here,” said Hansen. “I want to celebrate kids, I want to celebrate coaches and I just want our community to be proud.”

Hansen replaces former athletic director Kris Griffin.
