Boyne City Relying in Speed in 2021

BOYNE CITY – The Boyne City football team is set to rely on its speed in 2021.

The Ramblers expect to have 24 players on their varsity roster.

While Boyne City lacks size, its speed more than paid off for them last year as the Ramblers posted a 6-3 campaign and two playoff wins.

“I think if we can just stay out of our head and play our game we can beat anyone,” added senior Riley Dittmar.

The Ramblers graduated several players on the offensive and defensive lines, but return nearly all of their skill position players.

“I have full faith our coaches will get them coached up just right and they’re all out there to work,” senior Bobby Hoth said. “We all have each other’s back.”

“We have one returning lineman who did a phenomenal job last year. And I know he’ll help be like the captain of those guys and make them like the line we had last year,” junior Jack Neer said.

Boyne City opens its season on the road at Ogemaw Heights on Friday, Aug. 27.
