Elk Rapids Holds Off Petoskey, Secures First Win of Season

ELK RAPIDS – The Elk Rapids boys soccer program hosted Petoskey for a home game on Tuesday night with the Elks taking down the Northmen, 2-1.

With the victory, Elk Rapids secures its first win of the season and moves to 1-1 on the year.

Elk Rapids senior Mason Travis scored the game-winning goal. Spencer Ball scored the other goal for the Elks to give them a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. Petoskey’s lone goal came in the second half on a penalty kick by Dylan Aldridge.

Petoskey picks up its first loss of 2021 and falls to 2-1-1. The Northmen will face Glen Lake in Maple City on Thursday.

Elk Rapids will welcome Oxford on Friday.
