Young Bear Lake Squad Ready to Start Winning
BEAR LAKE – The 2021 season will be Bear Lake’s fifth campaign, as it’s still in search of its first winning season.
While many area teams are struggling with low participation numbers, the Lakers have a sizable roster, comprised mostly of underclassmen.
“Every year we’re a little bit young and inexperienced but we’re building the program and getting a little bit better every year and competing a little bit better every year,” coach John Prokes said.

“[I’m trying to] just make sure everyone knows what they’re doing,” senior Bryce Harless said. “We have a lot of new guys this year so I’m just trying to teach them up and make sure everything is going smoothly and according to plan.”
“Last year we had a little miscommunication in between running plays and defensive[ly] and I think we just know what we have to do this year,” added senior Jake Griffis.
Bear Lake opens its season on the road on Friday, Aug. 27.
