CMU Comes Back to Beat FIU, Chippewas Score 21 Unanswered Points in 4th Quarter
MT. PLEASANT – After trailing 14-10 at halftime and then by 17 points heading into the fourth quarter, Central Michigan pulled off a thrilling 31-27 comeback win over Florida International University at Kelly/Shorts Stadium Saturday afternoon.
The Chippewas scored 21 unanswered points in the final quarter of play to secure the come from behind win, led by quarterback Daniel Richardson, who replaced Jacob Sirmon in the second half.
Richardson finished the day 16-for-23 with 276 passing yards and three touchdowns.
Dallas Dixon led CMU’s receiving core with eight catches on 127 yards with two scores.
Central Michigan improves to 2-2 on the season and will kick of MAC play against Miami (OH) next Saturday, Oct. 2 at 3:30 p.m.
