Red Wings, Blue Jackets Start Prospect Tournament with Wins
TRAVERSE CITY — The Red Wings started the NHL Prospect Tournament with a 5-4 victory over the Stars at Centre Ice Arena in Traverse City on Thursday.
Detroit jumped out to a 2-0 lead in after the first period and then added three more goals in the second. Kirill Tyutyayev scored two goals for Detroit. Lucas Raymond, Chase Pearson and Joe Veleno all added a goal as well.
The Blue Jackets started the tournament on Thursday with a 4-3 victory over the Maple Leafs in overtime. Josh Dunne scored the game-winner for Columbus.
The tournament continues Friday with a pair of games at Centre Ice Arena in T.C. The Maple Leafs will play the Blues at 3 p.m. and then the Blue Jackets will face the Stars at 7 p.m.
