Soo Eagles Adjust Schedule Due to Border Restrictions
SAULT STE. MARIE — The Soo Eagles are still planning on having a hockey season this year, but they will have to wait longer to host any teams in their conference.
With the current border restrictions with Canada, the Eagles cannot host any conference games. They are the only team in their league not located in Canada.
The team is working on creating a new schedule, which will put the majority of their away games on the front-end of their schedule.
“It’s been more than frustrating, but you get to a point where you just have to try and find solutions to keep it going,” team owner Bruno Bragagnolo said. “You can’t worry about the past because there’s nothing you can do to change it. You have to take it day-by-day and make plans for the future.”
Bragagnolo said the goal is to start home games in November.
