BUCKLEY – A goal late in the first half from senior Alfonso Jimenez was all the scoring Buckley would need in a 1-0 victory over Glen Lake Monday night.
Buckley (12-4-1, 8-0) clinched a share of the Northwest Conference championship with the win. The Bears can win the conference outright if they beat Kingsley (0-13, 0-8) on Wednesday night or Leland (6-12-1, 5-3) in their last game of the season on Oct. 9th.
The win was Buckley’s 11th in its last 12 games, with the other game being a tie. It’s been quite a turnaround for the Bears after a 1-4 start to the season.
Glen Lake (7-5, 6-2) would need to win its last two conference games and have Buckley lose out in order to share the conference championship with the Bears.
