Beal City Heads to Division 8 State Finals with Win Over Ubly

MT. MORRIS – For the second time in three years, Beal City faced Ubly in the Div. 8 state semifinals and the Aggies took down the undefeated Bearcats 12-7 on Saturday to advance to their first state finals since 2019.

The last time these two met, the Aggies won, 21-20, to advance to the state championship where they eventually lost to Reading.

The No. 5 Aggies entered this matchup with an 11-game winning streak after losing in week one to Ravenna by one. Beal City was fresh off a regional title where they beat Carson City-Crystal, 34-14.

Third-ranked and undefeated Ubly looked to advance to the state championship for the second straight season after losing last year.

The Tigers end the year 12-1 overall.

Beal City (12-1) will take on Hudson (13-0) in the Division 8 state championship game on Nov. 26 at 10 a.m. at Ford Field in Detroit.

The Tigers are back in the finals for the first time since their title win in 2010 after falling to TC St. Francis in the finals the year before in 2009.
