Ferris State Earns No. 1 Regional Seed in Seventh Straight NCAA-II Playoffs
BIG RAPIDS – Ferris State football received the program’s seventh straight NCAA Division II playoff berth as the number one seed in the Super Region Three following the NCAA selection show on Sunday night.
As the top-ranked seed, the Bulldogs will receive a first-round playoff bye this week and host a second-round matchup on Saturday, Nov. 27, at Top Taggart Field.
Ferris State will play the winner of the first-round game between fifth-seeded Lindenwood and fourth-seeded Grand Valley State, which is set for Saturday in Allendale.
Ferris State will make its 12th overall NCAA Playoffs appearance in school history.
The Bulldogs hold an all-time NCAA Playoff record of 17-11, with their deepest run coming in 2018 following an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championship.
They have also reached the national quarterfinals or further each of the past four seasons with three trips to the national semifinal, most recently in 2019.
Ferris State ended its regular season undefeated with a perfect 10-0 record following the most recent win over Wayne State on Saturday. They also finished 7-0 in conference play to capture the GLIAC Championship for the third consecutive year and fifth time in the last seven seasons.
The championship game is set for December 18, at the McKinney ISD Stadium in McKinney, Texas.
