Ferris State Volleyball Wins Seventh GLIAC Tournament Title in Last Eight Years

HOUGHTON – The Ferris State volleyball team captured its seventh GLIAC Tournament Championship in the past eight years on Sunday as the Bulldogs win three sets to two against first-ranked Michigan Tech in Houghton.

Ferris State extended its winning streak to 20 consecutive matches and earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament by bouncing back from a one-set deficit twice on its way to the fifth-set victory.

The Bulldogs fell 25-21 in the first set before coming back to take the second 25-21. The Huskies took the lead with a 25-15 win in the third, but Ferris State posted a 25-19 victory in the fourth to force a fifth set.

Ferris State went on to win 16-14 in the final set to secure the league title.

The Bulldogs improve to 25-4 overall this season with the win.

Second-seeded Ferris State will now await the NCAA Selection Show set for Monday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. with a live online stream at NCAA.com.

With the berth, the Bulldogs earned their 25th all-time NCAA Tournament spot, including a bid for the 10th year in a row.
