Lake Superior State Cruises to Third Straight Win in Men’s Hoops

SAULT STE. MARIE — Lake Superior State remained undefeated to start its men’s basketball season with a 118-58 win over Finlandia on Tuesday at home.

The Lakers managed to score 118 points without a single player scoring more than 17 points. LSSU had 14 players score in the game. Pellston alum Blake Cassidy led them with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting.

LSSU also had an impressive game from beyond the arc, shooting 16-for-33 from deep, while Finlandia shot just 3-of-17 from three. The Lakers also forced 33 turnovers.

Lake Superior State will be back in action on Saturday with a 3 p.m. tipoff against Lewis at home.
