St. Ignace’s Schultz Signs With Ferris State for Basketball
ST. IGNACE — St. Ignace senior Ally Schultz recently signed her letter of intent to continue playing basketball at Ferris State next year.
Schultz will begin playing her fourth year of varsity basketball this season for the Saints, looking to lead them to another deep playoff run. St. Ignace has won a district title during the previous three seasons and made it to the state championship her freshman year.
Schultz earned all-state honors the last two years and was also first team all-conference during those seasons. She said she had multiple offers to play college basketball, but Ferris State felt like the best fit.
“My sister played college basketball and she told me, ‘You’ll get a gut feeling. You’ll just know that’s the place for you. You’ll have the right fit.’ And the second I left campus on my first visit, I was like, ‘I know this is where I want to be.'” Schultz said. “The environment was great. The team was great. Coaches were great. And it had everything I wanted.”
Schultz and the Saints will start their basketball season on Nov. 30 when they host Charlevoix.
