TC Central Football Returns to Division 2 State Semifinals

TRAVERSE CITY – Traverse City Central football is back in the Division 2 state semifinals for a second consecutive season. The Trojans will face undefeated South Lyon on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Greenville for a trip to the state title game.

The Trojans lost in the semifinals 43-30 to Mona Shores last season. They haven’t forgotten what that loss felt like, as the team chose the word “Finish” as its motto this season. With a large and talented group of seniors, the Trojans said they want to finish each play, finish each game and ultimately finish the season with a state championship.

“We all voted on what we wanted to put as our motto this year. Everyone clearly wanted it to be finish. Like I said, we had that feeling last year and we want to finish strong,” said Traverse City Central senior Josh Burnham.

The winner of Saturday’s game between Traverse City Central and South Lyon will face the winner of Warren De La Salle and Livonia Franklin for the state championship.
